The Manual Doctors Call Scheduling spreadsheets are preferred by those who want a "hands-on" approach to daily call and task assignments.

You simply specify the calls and/or tasks, the number of people required for each call or task each day of the week, doctors names and their qualifications for each call or task. You then assign calls and tasks each day of the year. The program displays statistics regarding the number of each type call that has been assigned to each doctor so you know at a glance who is due for a specific call assignment. In addition to calls and tasks, you can schedule vacations, miscellaneous days off, and any other reason why someone is unavailable on that day. You can incorporate any specific scheduling rules that you may have such as "no major call assignments for two days after a vacation" or "only one major weekend call per month". Drop-down menus of calls and tasks are used to make daily assignments to your doctors. Only calls and tasks the doctor is qualified to perform are in the menu preventing the assignment of inappropriate calls and tasks to any of your people. Calls and tasks needed each day are displayed and updated as each call/task is assigned so you will know when all required calls and tasks have been assigned. Monthly and Annual calendars are produced for each doctor and for each call/task. The calendars can be printed or automatically e-mailed to your doctors and other selected recipients. A file is also produced to transfer the daily assignments into your Outlook calendar, PDA, Smart Phone or other portable electronic device.
